Scope

This policy covers the CloudCaive Ltd-owned Awan iPhone and Apple Watch beta and this website. The website does not contain a wait-list database or collect addresses through a form. If you choose the beta email link, your email provider sends the message directly to Awan’s monitored mailbox under your provider’s terms.

Information processed on your devices

Depending on the features you choose, Awan may process an in-use iPhone location and time zone; Apple Health sleep times and stage estimates; transient Health source, product and device metadata used to identify clearly wearable records; a derived paired-Watch plan; manual city, mosque, jamaah, prayer schedule, alarm, reminder and private-pause settings; user-entered sleep-opportunity availability, minimum and target; and exact wake evidence with derived outcomes in a protected, backup-excluded journal capped at 64 entries and 28 days. A coordinate-free seven-day sleep-plan receipt and any future-only repair are deterministic planning output, not observed sleep. Wake interaction or confirmation is not proof of prayer, alertness or fitness. The separate non-production Internal Research app can also process a recording you explicitly export from Voice Memos to Files and select with Apple’s file picker.

Awan does not request raw heart rate, gender, menstrual history or menstrual-flow data.

Local research export

Only after you read an in-app notice, turn on its unchecked consent control and choose Create can Awan make a redacted JSON or CSV file. It contains derived outcome categories, relative timing, evidence-type labels and planned-opportunity totals. It excludes exact dates, coordinates, place and mosque names, internal plan, alarm and evidence identifiers, Health records, audio and private-pause information. Awan never uploads it. A saved or shared copy is outside Awan and must be deleted at its destination.

Location

Location is requested only while the iPhone app is in use and is used to calculate prayer times. The exact coordinate and time zone for the active seven-day prayer authority remain in a protected, backup-excluded file until that plan is replaced or local data is deleted; they are not sent to Awan, ordinary preferences, the Watch or analytics. You can instead choose a city manually. Derived schedules and a manual-city identifier may remain in app storage.

Greater London masjid data

Awan can download one common, source-attributed Greater London masjid release from its read-only public API. The request uses ordinary network information such as the IP address needed to deliver it, but Awan does not add your coordinate, search, favourite, visit history, account or device identifier. Search, distance ranking and favourites run on the iPhone; manual mosque and jamaah entries stay local.

The public release may be kept in a protected, backup-excluded cache for up to seven days. The cache is bounded to 8 MB and 128 entries and is removed when you delete all local data.

Internal imported-alarm-audio research

The public and external Beta apps do not expose imported recordings or use them for alarm playback. The separate Internal Research app accesses only a recording you explicitly exported to Files and selected, long enough to copy and convert it locally. Awan does not browse Voice Memos, record ambient or bedroom audio, request microphone access or upload the recording.

The generated source and CAF candidate are device-local, protected and excluded from backup. Imported playback remains disabled until a signed locked/reboot physical-device matrix approves an exact protection policy and fallback.

Apple Health and Apple Watch

With your permission, Awan reads only Apple Health sleep-analysis records. HealthKit remains the source of truth; raw samples and source metadata are processed in memory and are not uploaded. The Watch target does not read HealthKit. The public beta does not use Watch motion for earlier waking; it receives only a derived, expiring plan with the early-wake state disabled.

A separate non-production Internal Research build can process short-lived Watch motion during a bounded study window. It discards raw samples when the session ends and can retain at most 14 derived per-night summaries for 28 days in protected, backup-excluded storage.

You can change Health access in iOS Settings or the Health app. Apple intentionally does not tell apps whether a read permission was denied, so an empty result can also mean there is no compatible data.

Storage, backup and deletion

Ordinary preferences and derived sleep summaries are stored in the app’s private container. Some may be included in an encrypted Apple device backup according to your Apple settings. Raw Health samples are not written to Awan storage. The exact prayer authority, coordinate-free sleep-plan receipt, bounded wake journal and Internal Research audio graph are stored in protected, backup-excluded files. Public Watch builds remove legacy movement aggregates on launch and retry if deletion fails.

Delete all local data first stages separate protected, backup-excluded deletion-pending markers for the sleep-plan and wake-journal stores. If either staging step fails, the reset aborts without partially deleting authoritative state. Otherwise it clears local preferences, cached schedules, protected prayer, sleep-plan and wake-journal files, derived sleep projections and alarm state. Previously exported files are outside Awan and are not deleted. If either protected removal later fails, its marker blocks retained bytes from being loaded, appended or republished until a retry verifies absence. Health records remain under your control in Apple Health.

Website and third parties

This site is delivered through Cloudflare for security and availability. Cloudflare may process ordinary network request data such as IP address, request time, user agent and security signals under its role as infrastructure provider. Awan does not add behavioural analytics, advertising pixels or session replay.

Apple separately processes App Store, backup, crash, system diagnostic, Health and location-permission information under Apple’s policies and your settings.

Children and medical information

The beta is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Awan is a general-wellness tool, not a medical service. Do not use the support channel to send medical records or other unnecessary sensitive information.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be disclosed before new processing begins. For a privacy question or deletion help, email privacy@awanfajr.com. Do not send Health exports, exact location, or other sensitive records by email.
